In the installation menu an option normally exists for "Add channels manual or automatic".
Choose the automatic option, which will then search all UHF channels (DVB-T multiplexes) for new channels and install them into the EPG (Electronic Programme Guide).
However the support engineer suggested that I tried cleaning it as described in the above thread. UPDATE 06/08/2011: So today I removed the clock board following the guidelines here and cleaned it as listed above.
It took me about 45 minutes in all to dismantle, clean and reassemble.
This is when the clock displays –:– in standby and won’t record from this mode.
I haven’t tried the posted solution yet but by the comments it seems to work. UPDATE 03/08/2011: I have just contacted Humax and a new clock board can be purchased for a little over £30.00.
Again an option for this should be present in the "installation" or "installer menu" of your Freeview equipment. If you experience problems in adding the new Freeview channels such as ITV1 1, then try disconnecting the aerial input cable to your set top box and carry out a full 'Re-Installation', 'Auto Setup' or 'Auto Tune' depending on the terminology used on your set top box.
But what is Freeview Play and how does it differ from Freeview HD?
In addition viewers of the Mendip TV transmitter will need to do a full re-tune due to recent Multiplex changes. With most Freeview receivers, solving the problem of missing channels or incorrect channel numbers in the EPG means a simple re-tune.
Freeview box re-tuning is also needed to add new channels such as ITV1 1, Channel One (a re-branded version of Virgin 1), ITV2 1, Viva, Dave, Five US, More4 and ITV4.
Re-tuning your Freeview set top box or digital TV regularly will ensure that you can continue to enjoy all the new free to air digital television channels on offer and that the channel numbering is correct.
In January 2011 there have also been some recent Freeview channel number changes to add ITV1 1 which require the retuning of your set top box (STB).
It collates the best shows from titanic platforms such as BBC i Player, All 4 and UKTV – all that pesky monthly fee seems to come around quicker and quicker with streaming services Amazon Prime and Netflix.
